Burger Station Inc
About This Spot
At first glance, Burger Station Inc feels like a cherished local treasure tucked into the heart of Winfield’s everyday rhythm. The modest exterior invites a familiar kind of comfort, where the hum of conversation blends with the occasional sizzle from the grill—setting a casual, unhurried tone that feels like stepping into a neighbor’s kitchen rather than a commercial eatery.
This is a place where time slows just enough to savor simple pleasures: the aroma of freshly grilled patties, the crunch of perfectly crisped fries, and the welcoming nod of familiar faces. With just a handful of outdoor tables, the atmosphere leans into the changing Kansas weather, encouraging most visitors to grab their meals to-go—yet even the brief moments sitting here invite conversation and connection under the open sky.
The rhythm here is quiet but attentive. You order by phone, then return when the food is ready, a gentle dance that keeps the pace thoughtful and deliberate rather than rushed. The folks behind the counter bring years of care to each burger, seasoning and layering flavors in a way that speaks of home cooking more than a fast-food chain. Whether it’s a classic cheeseburger with a nostalgic touch of fried onions and pickles, or a chili-topped creation that’s become a local legend, the experience is about more than convenience—it’s about a shared appreciation for hearty, honest food prepared with pride.
Regulars keep coming not just for the taste but for the warm, familiar energy that lingers in the air—where the owner’s friendly recommendations feel like genuine guidance, and the day’s menu might shift as patties run out, reminding you this is a place sustained by craft rather than production lines. It’s in these small details that Burger Station Inc quietly weaves itself into the fabric of the community, a spot where taste and tradition meet in perfect balance.

Good burger stand, prices are reasonable! Food tastes great wish the burger was a tad bit bigger but no complaints, people are extremely nice. Will definitely be going back.

The burgers are delicious and perfectly cooked!!! Fries are like McDonald's. I drove from Rose Hill to eat with my husband and it's so very good that I'll be coming back soon! Orders are only taken by phone and you can only enter when your order is ready. They have 3 tables outside, so eating there is heavily dependent on the weather (windy, cold, raining, etc.). Most of the business is take- out. Saturday was perfect weather for eating outside enjoying a hot burger and fries. Also, no lettuce or tomato but they do grill the onions and you can grill jalapeños too! I highly recommend!!!

You can't beat the chili cheeseburger and a side of fries. Yumm. Been a customer for over 40 years. 11/18/23 Back for more. Always enjoy the burgers here. Be sure to come early and/or call ahead. Realize that they may close early if they go through all of their patties that day. It's worth the trip.

As I’m new to the area I asked the owner what he would recommend me to try…. And he said the chili cheese burger so I got that and some fries…. Home cooked taste & beautiful setting…. Felt like home in that building

There was a little bit of a line, but it moved fast enough. Today there were a lot of activities around town so more people. Really great grilled union burgers. Ordered with pickles, grilled onions, mustard, and cheese. Fries were good. Asked for more salt. Hot and slightly crispy, not soggy. Will be back and would definitely recommend.

2022 update: Still the best burger in town!! They are only doing call-in orders, but mine was done in less than 5 minutes so no need to call too far ahead. $10 will get you 2 chili cheeseburgers and an order of fries. Great deal! Original review: This place is my guilty pleasure during the Walnut Valley Festival. Love the chili cheeseburgers!! I get 2, one to eat for lunch and another to take back to the fest for later! I haven’t been the last 2 years, looking forward to stopping by once again next year

I was a little taken back from the way they only allowed 1 person in at a time and now they have to call your name while you wait outside or in your car, but I know COVID changed a lot of good things.
